[Solved] FSUIPC and PMDG DC-6
I'm running MSFS2024 using the MSFS2020 keyboard layout while flying te PMDG DC-6. The documentation for the DC-6 lists the command to reverse props upon landing as CTL+W. I've mapped this command to a button but it doesn't work. I also mapped a button to the built-in command "reverse prop" but that didn't work. FSUIPC handles all the other buttons, switches and axes properly. Ideas please.

Does it work if you just use Ctrl+W directly? If so, can you show me / attach your FSUIPC7.log and FSUIPC7.ini files, and for the former please set logging for Buttons & Keys as well as Events, and try both Ctrl+W via the keyboard and also via your assigned button. Make sure you exit FSUIPC7 before attaching files.
Also, PMDG aircraft tend to use custom controls via the Rotor Brake control. Maybe there is a Rotor Brake control code for this? If you set logging for Events, and then reverse the props in the VC, if its using any events (including custom Rotor Brake events) then these will be logged. So if Ctrl+W doesn't work, try reversing the props in the VC (using the mouse) and see what is logged.

No, it doesn't work if I try either left or right CTL+W from the keyboard. Also doesn't work with the mapped button but does work if I click on the reverse lever in the VC. I'm thinking that the problem might be with PMDG but thought I'd make sure that the problem isn't with FSUIPC. I've been using FSUIPC for about 20 years and never had a problem with it. I'm attaching the files.
Thanks for checking this out.
Jim
Sorry about all the junk in the log file. I can rerun it if you want.

If Ctrl+W is not working, then its not going to work when assigning a button to send Ctrl+W.

Then you need to determine what is happening when you do this. Activate logging for Events (and Events only - please do not add other logging) and open the logging console window (Log->Open Console) and see what is logged when you do this. If a custom control is being used, it will be logged.
If, when you open the logging console, you see lots of events logged without touching anything, these will be events that the aircraft continually emits. It is a good idea to ignore these by setting the DontLogThese ini parameter (see documentation for details - its documented in the Advanced User manual), so you only see events that you are triggering.

Yes, you set logging for Axes Controls for some reason - this will fill the log with unwanted information. And you did not set logging for Buttons & Keys either. When I request logs, please set the logging requested, and only the logging requested.

You can do, but its far easier if you look at this yourself in real-time (with the logging console open), as then you can see what is logged when you click on the reverser in the VC. Hopefully you will see a Rotor Brake event that you can use.
You can also attach the log file here afterwards, and maybe also list both the lvars and input events before doing this (via the log menu).
