I'm not sure why the FS UNC path is incorrect, but maybe check any registry entries under (HKLM) 'SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\Services\\lanmanserver\\Shares' (as I can see the code checks there when generating the UNC path)..

If your 'SERVER' share is defined to point to 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\' then this should be ok... I expect it is, as I can't see how this could be incorrect. The UNC path is generated by:

  1. Taking the current folder name (in your case, 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Modules')

  2. Removing the Modules folder (leaving 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\'

  3. Then replacing any parts that have a 'share' name, so if your SERVER share is defined as 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\' then the resulting UNC path would be '\\SERVER\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\'. as logged.

Thanks for all this information.  I shall give to my chap on Thursday who will understand it much better than I do.  I will then report back.

Hi again.  Good and bad news!  Yesterday we got the net work working to my Client PC's.  I am having to amend some WideClient ini files on my Clients, but am progressing there.  Still no joy with the MCP.  I have though had a thought about this.  I used to run a Build No. 496 on Windows 7 without any issues.  (This Build will install on Windows 11, but not run) My Pilot Client PC is Windows 7, so today I have installed the MCP Build 496 on that PC.  After installation the program asks for a Registration key (having thrown up a PC ID).  I have sent this off to Progenta Magenta, but have to wait to get a key back from them.  I am hoping that once activated, the MCP program will be seen across the network like any other PM Program.  So at present this is just fingers crossed, and I'll report back.

So the MCP software is running on a client PC, and you are using WideClient on the client PC? If so, then you should have mentioned this and I would first check that the WideServer/WideCLient connection was working before anything else...

Only just installed the MCP on Client.  It installed OK, but until I receive Reg. Key can not test.  WideServer/Wide Client are working now that we have the network working.  Only did this yesterday and today, so couldn't have mentioned that before.
