How to update FSUIPC
Hello I received a message from MSFS when loading saying that my FSUIPC need to update but when I turned off the sim FSUIPC disconnect so as I am not an expert I need to be tell where to update it 🙁 sorry 🙂 and Thank you
I released version 7.5.7 of FSUIPC7 yesterday, which is why you got the update notification.
You can download and install the update from the update notification, but you need to exit MSFS to run the FSUIPC7 installer. Otherwise, just download the latest installer version from fsuipc.com and then unzip the downloaded file and run the installer. Or run FSUIPC7 (without starting MSFS) and let it update itself.
@fsuipc Is there really no option to have this Update Message every time you start FSUIPC7?
With all due respect, it is very annoying. It takes quite some time to get MSFS up and running so I just start it and walk away, making my flight plan on Simbrief on my laptop. When I come back I have this Update message on my screen and FSUIPC is not loading until I say "NO" Why the whole world today absolutely wants to push updates is beyond me. Sorry if I sound frustrated or disrespectful but it really gets to me. So please, give us a choice.
BTW I tried AutoCheckUpdate=no but that seems not to work anymore.
Cheers

No

No such option - never has been.
Why is it so annoying? just one button click. If this is not shown, you would not know there was an update available.
I am getting pretty fed up with this request, so I will add an option in the next release where you can disable this. However, if you set this, I will also add a message to the log and FSUIPC main window to inform you that your FSUIPC7 version is no longer supported.
@fsuipc Again no disrespect intended, but if you are getting fed up with this request than their must be many people having the same feeling about his.
I don't understand why this has to block FSUIPC from continue loading and more importantly all the other programs configured in fsuipc from starting. I can understand you want people to inform that there's a new version but then only have a pop-up without blocking the loading process. And yes, then it' "just" a click to close the pop-up. And a few version earlier (and still now) there's a message in the main window of FSUIPC informing about a new version, only it didn't block the loading process.
Cheers
@skycamel No - the same 2 or 3 users always (well, various times) complaining about this, way less than 1% of FSUIPC users.
I am not going to respond to any more of your comments on this issue as it is a waste of my time. As I said, I will add a new (and undocumented) ini parameter to disable the new-version-available pop-up.
Of course, you will still get this on the next version release, but then you add the new ini parameter and this will then prevent the pop-up for later releases.
The new ini parameter will be documented in the changes.txt file and in the FSUIPC History document, but not in the manuals.
@skycamel You can also stop this by preventing http access for FSUIPC7 using Windows Defender (or any other anti-virus software). Google on how to do this. However, it will most likely take longer for FSUIPC to start as it will wait for the http request (that retrieves the latest version number) to time-out before starting.
Hi, I never had any problems until the latest update. With version 7.5.7, when I install fsuipc, it doesn't complete the registration with the serial number. This has never happened. I've disabled Windows Defender and the firewall. It doesn't work. Any help? Thanks.
When you update, you can skip the registration as your license has already been validated and the FSUIPC7.key file generated (and the fields in the registration page should be pre-populated). However, you should be able to re-register/validate without an issue.
If you run FSUIPC7, does it run as a registered/licensed version? i.e. can you see the Assignments menu?
If registration now fails, something must have changed. See the Invalid Key Problems section of the Installation and Registration guide. The usual reason for registration failure is due to not having the required VC++ redistributables installed - try downloading and installing the latest combined redistributable package from Microsoft (details in the documentation).
