Can [JoyNames] have better – FIXED – reference codes, not creating different duplicates of themselves
Switching and adding controllers to USB ports and hubs – I have many controllers and multiple hubs also for racing, DCS etc. - creates major problems within FSUIPC7.ini, and lately I have been switching a lot of hardware.
Also using PMDG with all the special presets and also using VoiceAttack which needs Key Command translations, I end up with 200+ [Buttons], 300+ [Keys], in Profiles.ini and a long list of [JoyNames] in FSUIPC7.ini many of them duplicates.
A solution would be
[JoyNames] references 123 .. ABC
would always be the same,
Like there is the reference GUID=” .. {2BE74B00-B242-11F1-8018-444553540000} .. ” and such reference
instead of
1= 1.GUID= Y= Y.GUID=
Where the numbers and letters change, and the true [JoyNames] duplicate themselves – I have had the 0-9 and the whole alphabet listed.
Something like that, a solution
Now editing the FSUIPC7.ini and Profiles with – just another – change of port or device is rather a crime
‘Starting over’, simply unplugging several USB devices already duplicated mt basic MSFS2024 [JoyNames]
which will disable existing bindings:

8.GUID={2C1D4F20-B242-11F1-8019-444553540000}Matching and acquiring connected USB devices is quite a complex process and uses three sources of information: a scan of currently connected USB devices, your registry entries for USB devices, and the [Joynames] section of your FSUIPC7.ini. You should really only get issues if your device's GUIDs change (or possibly name), but this should not occur very often, usually only on windows and hardware updates. When this does occur, you just need to edit the ini file to use the existing letter for any newly created letter entries and remove the original entries.
The ini extract you posted shows issues as it looks like you have deleted letter entries when you have assignments to those letters. You should not do this.
Note also that unplugging and reconnecting devices, especially to different ports or hubs, can result in many reg entries being created, which can also cause issues over time.
I think the best way forward would first be to connect your devices as you use for flying/FSUIPC, start FSUIPC7 then exit, and show me / attach the following 3 files: FSUIPC7.ini, FSUIPC7.log and FSUIPC7.JoyScan.csv. I can then correct your ini and registry for this set-up. Then switch to your other set-up, then switch back and we can see what has changed and if it needs correcting.
