With 7.5.8, button assignments stopped working
Hi! I upgraded from 7.5.7 to 7.5.8, and subsequently, four button assignments stopped working. The assignments are correct and have been double-checked in both joy.cpl and FSUIPC. The buttons worked perfectly right up until version 7.5.8. INI file is attached. Button Box Interfaces 1 and 2 are still working; it is the buttons on YOKES 1OFF and CAP that have stopped working. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong? I use the buttons as PTT in FS2024 removed link Thanks in advance. Best regards, Espen
Could you please set logging for Buttons & keys and show me / attach a log file where you try to use these buttons.
Note there is an issue with MSFS2024 with function keys F13 and above as these are not received by FSUIPC, but should be ok to send them via buttons (as you are doing).
Hi, and thanks for the quick response. After every simulator session, I shut everything down. I therefore had to restart everything to provide the log you requested. Everything was started up normally, following my usual sequence. This time, all the buttons worked as they should. I’m optimistic and assume the fault was just a one-off incident. If it happens again, I’ll send you the log. It hadn't occurred to me that a restart would help, given that all the other buttons were working. Sorry for the trouble. Have a great weekend. Note that I have noticed that sometimes (approx 1 in 20 times) there is an issue with MSFS2024 in that once started it doesn't accept or respond to any key presses at all. To recover, you have to restart MSFS. As your assignments were to send key presses, maybe they were working but just having no effect due to this issue?
I have only noticed this issue since SU6, and haven't yet reported as it is solved by a restart.
If you get this issue again, check if MSFS2024 is responding to key presses, e.g. does 'esc' still pause the sim? If not, it is an MSFS issue and you need to restart. If it does respond and your assignments aren't working, show me a log file.
