Hi John,

thanks for getting back to me again. Hmm, darn—I only did half of it. Please accept my apologies. I’ll try again another day. Unfortunately, I can't configure it in Simsounds; I only have the option shown in the pictures. I don't have any other way to do it.

Best regards

Urs

It looks like SimSounds is reading the PMDG-specific offsets for FSUIPC6, which are different from those usied in FSUIPC7. It is reading offset 649E for the no smoking selector (instead of 64FA), and 649F for the seat-belt selector (instead of 64FB).

As I said, I am not familiar with SimSounds, but the best solution would be to change the offsets it reads, if this is possible. Check the SimSounds documentation and maybe take a look at any configuration files to see if this can be changed.

If you cannot configure SimSounds to read the correct offsets, you could try spoofing the read of these offsets. To do this, you need a lua script. Such a script is provided in the example lua scripts, called liar.lua. Take a look at that script and see if you can update it to spoof these offsets. When I get time. I will take a look and see if I can update it for you...

Hi John,

wow, you're incredible! You've already found more information than I have. Unfortunately, I'm missing the documentation from SimSounds, and it's no longer available for download on their website—or at least I couldn't find it. I couldn't find anything within the file itself that I could modify, either; that's why I reached out here. Unfortunately, I have a bad cold right now, so I'm not getting much done. I'll see if I can do something about it, though. But I think a Lua script would need to be written, just as you suggested.

Thanks a million, John.

Best regards

Urs

Try the attached lua. Make sure its running - best to start it from the [Auto.xxx] section (where xxx is your profile name for the PMDG 737) of your PMDG profile.

I haven't tried this here yet as I don't have this aircraft for MSFS2024. I will try it with MSFS2020 later today.

Hi John,

oh wow, thank you so much for your effort. That’s great.

I’ll test it as soon as I’m back on my feet and can get into the sim. I still need to find the PMDG profile name; maybe it will show up in Simsounds—I’ll have to check. Then I can enter it correctly into the FSUIPC.ini.

John, thanks a million for your help with this matter, even though it’s not really related to the main topic.

Best regards

Urs
