The solution is: MSFS2020 with B737MAX from Bredok3D and FSUIPC7 (the penultimate version). The latest version no longer implements these valuable assignments of the various axes and buttons (or am I mistaken?).

I am pretty sure you are mistaken (I do not remove working functionality!) but don't know what you are referring to - could you please explain?

I'm eighty-two years young and wanted to upgrade my simulator to 2020/24.

Ok, glad you got everything working. MSFS2020/2024 are different beasts than FSX/P3D. It can get quite complicated and involved, and, especially for complex aircraft/airliners, it helps if you understand and know how to use all the possible control types (lvars, hvars, bvars/Input Events & presets, as well as the standard controls).

My father -Pete, will also be 82 years young in a month or two. He is sticking with P3Dv5 for his main cockpit (ProSim 737) for various reasons, although he does use MSFS2020 on a stand-alone analogue Piper Arrow sim that he also has. He does have difficulties getting to grips with these new MSFS sims.

I will definitely contact them and inform them accordingly.

 Thanks for this!

Thank you very much for your valuable and expert support.

No problem.

Please let me know what 'valuable assignments' you think are missing from the latest version....

John

I can't explain it myself. I also don't know how the window with the various options is structured, but I think you'll find this hard to believe: after the initial installation of FSUIPC (7.5.7) with FS2024, the window only showed the following:

File, MSFS, Options, Log, ADD-ons?! The assignments were simply missing.

I then theorized that because FS2024 offers more extensive configuration options, you might have omitted the usual assignments. (Although that seems unlikely to me!)

Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture. After your last message, I was corrected and reinstalled the new FSUIPC. Ta-da! Everything is back to normal, which means OK.

Hanspeter

Not hard to believe at all. When there is no 'Assignments' menu, this means you are running an unlicensed version, i.e. there is no valid FSUIPC7.key file in the FSUIPC7 installation folder. This can happen if you install/re-install in a new folder and fail to register your license at the end of the installation process.

John

Yes, that definitely happened. I renamed the folder so that not a mistaken overwrite could occur.

And I thought I could work miracles 🙂

Thanks a lot... I think we can close this topic now.
