Bluebird B757 | Issues reading and setting lvars
Posted by: @fsuipcthere are 6528 lvars
Looking at the lvars created:
- there are over 2000 that start 'p42_cp_' - what are these?
- there are over 2100 lvars created by FSDT_GSX
There also seem to be lvars for other aircraft (e.g. A320, A310, ...).
Maybe, as a test, you could also try with a clean Community folder, containing only the add-ons needed. And also, if possible, try starting GSX only after everything else has started and loaded, and FSUIPC has received the initial lvars.
[N.B. The Trace log was useful in the end to see the discovered lvar names!]
I found to have the same issue as well. Unable to set any Lvar's after having used the Bluebird 757. Also using ipc.readLvar returns Bad String while it clearly shouldn't... Something is up here...

The 757 has an external app called bbs_nest. As far as I know, it's required to see terrain data and it also "unlocks" the aircraft. After this app unlocked the aircraft, the user can closed it. Everything (apart terrain data) is working without it. User were also reporting memory leaks while using it. The dev is suggesting closing the app as a workaround for now.
I was looking at the list in the simconnect inspector. I am not sure if those are all simconnect clients but this is the list:
- FCREmbedded
- FSUIPC7_AItraffic
- FSUIPC.LVAR.WASM
- FSUIPC7
- BBS (->Bluebird Simulations)
- FenixBootstrapper
- Couatl
- //42 ChasePlane 497
- FSUIPC-WASM-IF
- //42 ChasePlane 275
I've altered the community folder to test if/when those exception 31's are coming up.
-> clear community folder (only fsuipc in there): All working as expected
-> my "normal" community folder without bluebird simulations 757: All working as expected
-> only fsuipc and bluebird folders in my community folder: The exceptions pop up with the same issues as before
With those findings I will definitely ask the developer about SimConnect CDAs and data usage. I will report back as soon as I've received an answer from them.
If this was done, this would limit the number of lvars that FSUIPC sees. Looking at your logs, you would have to limit to 23 or possibly 24 CDAs, which would give you visibility of the first 3358 or 3504 lvars found - there are 6528 lvars. This would require a WASM update - I can look into this if this is an acceptable solution.
Just to confirm - If my desired lvars would be loaded outside the 3358 or 3504 range, I would have to alter my community folder to eliminate some of the first lvars in a way, that the desired ones appear in the set range. Am I correct? Or would this work in a different way?
I've attached the SimConnect Log of a session in which I loaded into the aircraft.
Regarding your question about the p42_cp_ lvars. Those are the vars of //42's chaseplane.

Yes, that is correct. But I don't think its worth me doing this really...This issue neds to be addressed by BlueBird.

Note there are 22 connections for "BBS1". Each of these connections creates 98 8k CDAs, consuming 784K. So with 22 connections, these clients are consuming 16,456K. Note that once a CDA is created, it persists for the lifetime of the simulator, and the memory is not released if the client closes.disconnects.

This is probably related to this issue. But closing the app is not a solution as this does not free the memory allocated to CDAs.
Please report this to the aircraft developers. Why is it creating so many connections, with each creating so many CDAs?
Here are the CDAs created by one one the "BBS1" clients (this is repeated for each connection for this client):
