[Solved] FSLabs A320 Assign Button

I included a line for the VC_GSLD_BOTH_EFIS_FD_off in the rotorbrake_param_list since it didn't have it.

Ok, but I am not sure how that lua file is used - it just defines a variable to a number (which looks to be a Rotor Brake control parameter). I can see that the FSL variable is set in the actions.lua to 66587, which is the control number for the Rotor Brake control.

To use Rotor Brake controls in FSUIPC, you can also just assign your button to the Rotor Brake control directly and give the required parameter - no need for lua.

But glad you seem to have worked it out to your satisfaction.

Do you have a link to where these scripts are available?

If you go back to the 3rd post, the Rotor Brake lua file is attached. How I found both the Rotor Brake and the FSLabs A320 lua files, I did a google search (because I was looking for the FSLabs A320 one and happen to find the Rotor Brake para list as well) and found the link. I don't remember where I had to download it from but you can look for it.

I know you attached various files but they are not complete, so I was wondering where they came from. They look like they may be from LINDA...

Yes, the action.lua file I attached is LINDA. You can do a Google search like "Linda FSLabs A320 FSUIPC" or something like and look for it the file. That's what I did to find it some 8 years ago. The action.lua file I attached, not mine, everything you see in that lua file is what's there. So, I don't know if there is anything missing or if its incomplete. If you have an issue with that, you can address it in the LINDA forum and perhaps whoever created the lua file can correct it. For me, there are a few things I took from it that I needed and pasted it into my lua file and works fine for me when it came to assigned buttons/keyboard via FSUIPC. It wasn't until I happen to saw there was a Rotor brake parm list that it made it easier to assigned the other things I needed.

I am familiar with LINDA. By 'not complete', I mean that it cannot be used on its own - it needs to be used in the LINDA environment. I get (or used to) quite a lot of support requests with people taking lua scripts out of LINDA and expecting them to work outside of the LINDA environment, which they won't. They can be useful to examine to determine how a switch/button can be assigned, but they cannot be used on their own.

If you have an issue with that

I have no issues! LINDA is a very good add-on for FSUIPC and provides an easy solution for FSUIPC users for many aircraft and peripherals, especially for FSX and P3D. Unfortunately, LINDA is not longer support (as Andrew, the developer of LINDA, has retired) and I would not recommend LINDA for MSFS2020/2024 users.
