This are the (new) Support Forums for FSUIPC and related products.

These forums replace the old support forums which have been running for 20+ years. The old forums contain a wealth of information on all FSUIPC products, and are still available (until the end of the year) for read-only here.

At the moment these new forums are quite empty – I will be updating the FAQ section and copying across the User Contributions from the old forums in the next few months.

[Solved] Tips for moving to MSFS 2024

Hi, I am finally making the move but want to run 2020 and 2024 together for now. I have a lot of devices and settings in FSUIPC.ini.

is there any best practice for setting up FSUIPC on 2024 in parallel, eg do I re-run the installer, or just manually add FSUIPC to autorun in the 2024 exe.xml file, and how do joystick assignments work (are they the same between the two simulators so all my presets work immediately?).

Thanks for any advice.

Better to just re-run the installer, as you also want the WASM installed into MSFS2024.

If using the same installation for MSFS2024 (recommended unless you have a good reason not to), then your profiles will all be available. Note however that the same aircraft in MSFS2024 may have a slightly different name than in MSFS2020, so you may need to add the aircraft to a profile.

Is is also possible that an assignment that works for an aircraft in MSFS2020 will not work for the same aircraft in MSFS2024 (or vica-versa). You can handle this using different profiles if the aircraft names are different. However, if the names are the same, then this is when you would need a separate installation for MSFS2024.
