[Solved] Issue with some MSFS 2024 add-ons after 7.5.6 installation

Hi,

since the installation of FSUIPC 7.5.6 I'm facing issue with some add-ons.

For example Chaseplane 2024 is no more running. Contacting their support i got this answer 'you are using FSUIPC and have it configured to change the window title for MSFS. You must disable this for ChasePlane to be able to find the MSFS window.'

I do not know how that is possible, the fact is that uninstalling 7.5.6 and installing 7.5.4 (I dont have more recent past versions) everything is OK (with the exception that with that version I'm no more able to manage the offsets for PMDG 737-800).

In some cases I had problem also with the MSFS 2024 task bar (in this case after some restarts it appeared back again).

Any suggestion about how colud be possible to solve the problem?

Thanks and KR

Joe

You can't disable this, but FSUIPC only changes the MSFS title if:

   - you are using WideServer, or

   - you are logging an offset to the title bar

The only change in 7.5.6 that could affect add-ons is the minor change in how the ini parameter init3308 works, and this change should improve connectivity with 3rd party apps in MSFS2024 (when set), and should have no effect if not using or using MSFS2020.

Hmm. Could you try the attached version please, 7.5.5 and let me know how it goes with this version.

Could you also attach a log file when using 7.5.6 showing your issue,

Hi,

I think that the problem is  really with 7.5.6. In fact also with 7.5.5 i do not have issues with add ons (and particulary with Chaseplane 2024). The problem with 7.5.5 is that I'm not able to manage the PMDG 737-800 offsets (that's normal?).

I have 4 PCs using WIDEFS (but before 7.5.6 I never had any issue for that in MSFS 2020 or MSFS 2024)

Really I do not know if I am logging an offset to the title bar (how is that done?)

In my INI I have also added the option init3308=13, but without any positive effect

Attached the log using 7.5.6

Ok, but I needed to verify if this was an issue due to changes in 7.5.6 or 7.5.5.

Yes - the problem with PMDG aircraft in MSFS2024 is that the aircraft title doesn't contain the string 'PMDG', so the PMDG threads may not be started, 7.5.6 contains a fix for this issue.

Don't add this it everything is working in 7.5.5 without this. This is only needed for some add-ons that have not been updated to be compatible with MSFS2024.

If you don't know, you almost certainly are not. This is done via the  Log->Offsets menu option and checking the box to log to the title bar.

So you are using WideServer. There is really no change in what is written to the title bar in MSFS whn using 7.5.5 vs 7.5.6. Can you see any differences in the title bar between these versions?

Contacting their support i got this answer 'you are using FSUIPC and have it configured to change the window title for MSFS. You must disable this for ChasePlane to be able to find the MSFS window.'

I don't know why ChasePlane is using the windows Title. They should find it using the class name AceApp, not checking the title. But there should be no difference in how the title is used between 7.5.5 and 7.5.6, so I am not sure this is the issue. But could you please check this: try both 7.5.5 and 7.5.6 and see if the MSFS title is any different between these versions.

Also, your log file shows that you are trying to add a simvar that doesn't exist to an FSUIPC offset:

54156 Adding simvar 'ExportedAmbientVisibility' to offset 66FD (size 1, type 'F32') for read-only access
54156 Number of FS control/events registered : 1896
54172 Mapping custom control numbers 69632 - 84232 (maximum defined by ini parameter MaxCustomControlNumber, defaults to 84232 when not present)
54172 Maximum number of custom events available is 1024 (defined by ini parameter MaxNumberOfCustomEvents)
54172 Exception 7 "NAME_UNRECOGNIZED", Ref 1205, Index param 2 on read AddData for "ExportedAmbientVisibility"

You should remove that.

Hi,

trying to understand how to check the MSFS title I have put MSFS 2024 in windowed mode in the title bar I have: Monitor IPC:320 (FLT32)=0.1690.... that means I'm logging offsetss in the title bar? In that case I have no idea how that was possible. How can I stop that?
