Increase/Decrease command for Input Event

Hello,

I'm trying my best to find out the bindings for the new 707. I have managed to sort out quite some things. However, I'm stuck on the A/P Pitch Wheel. From Dev. Mode I can see that the wheel has 3 Input Events (..._Set, ..._Inc and ..._Dec). When I access the Input Events in FSUIPC, I can see the same initial name of the event "AP PITCH CONTROL WHEEL 1/2". If I manipulate the wheel in the VC, the values change in units of 10° up or down all the way around 360° (since it's a round wheel). When I assign this to a button, in FSUIPC and I set a parameter, it seems that it SETS a wheel position. (e.g. Parameter 1 gives 50°, Parameter 3.6 gives 180°, Parameter 0 gives 0°, etc., etc.)

Since there is no separate Input Event to distinguish between increasing or decreasing, is there a way to still achieve that using this input event?

Thanks,

Xander

Yes - you can add the input event to a spare/free FSUIPC offset, and then use FSUIPC's offset controls to inc/dec (or cycle inc/dec) the value in the offset, which will trigger the new value to be sent to the FS.

See the Advanced User guide page 55 on how to add an Input Event to an FSUIPC offset.

Are you using MSFS2020 or MSFS2024?

If using MSFS2024, you can also try calling the _Inc and _Dec input events using calculator code (this won't work in MSFS2020).

To test this, you can use the Add-Ons->WASM->Execute Calculator code menu option, and try entering:
     1 (>B:inputEventName)

(where inputEventName is the name of the inc/dec input event). You can try with various values instead of 1, to see which works best for your needs.

If that works, you can then define a preset for the calculator code and assign to that instead.

I've already set up an offset for the 707, but I haven't assigned anything yet. I'll try the Calculator Code on that variable and see which one works best.

Thanks again...
