This are the (new) Support Forums for FSUIPC and related products.
These forums replace the old support forums which have been running for 20+ years. The old forums contain a wealth of information on all FSUIPC products, and are still available (until the end of the year) for read-only here.
At the moment these new forums are quite empty – I will be updating the FAQ section and copying across the User Contributions from the old forums in the next few months.
Please note that you will need to Register and Login to post for support, and also to download attachments. You can view these forums without registering.
Support is also available via Discord. Please use the following invite link to join the FSUIPC Discord server:

Incompatibility with Cowansim helicopter
I've been a long-time user of FSUIPC (purchased versions) and thought I would reach out to you about an incompatibility issue with the CowanSim 500E helicopter. If I'm rehashing old news I apologize. I see others on-line on various sites that have this issue, but I've not seen any resolution. I've contacted CowanSim, and he is adamant that he is not doing anything about it because he's never heard of FSUIPC and I'm apparently one of the "old .0000001% of users still using it" and doesn't appreciate me bringing it up "again".
Anyway, if FSUIPC is launched (I use the EXE.xml file) the cyclic does not work at all ONLY ON THIS HELICOPTER! I have NO issues with any other aircraft! I've tried various commands, and it will not move at all. Have you heard of this or would you know of any workarounds for this? If not, and you don't want to pursue it, no problem. If FSUIPC is not launched, the cyclic works fine. I've tried it with NO control inputs set up in FSUIPC, only MSFS control settings, no joy. I've tried it with ONLY FSUIPC control inputs, none in MSFS, no joy. As long as FSUIPC is running at all, I get no control inputs for the cyclic only. All other (collective, rudder...) work fine always.
In one of my posts, he mentioned L:COWANSIM_Cyclic_X_Position and L:COWANSIM_Cyclic_Y_Position Are these commands something I can plug into FSUIPC for that profile and get the cyclic to work?
Thanks again for all you do and your product. It's served me well over the years! I belong to a flight sim club in Ocala Florida and recommend FSUIPC to my buddies. Not everyone is interested, but some are.

Didn't you post about this in the old FSUIPC support forums?

What I suspect is happening is that FSUIPC (post) calibration is affecting the controls. If you have a general calibration section, this will apply by default even when the axis is assigned in MSFS or elsewhere.
You can do one of two things:
1. Create a profile-specific calibration section for the CowanSim and remove/reset all calibration controls - you should do this even if you are not currently using a profile for this aircraft.
To do this, just click the 'Profile Specific' checkbox in the calibration tab of the axis assignment panel. Then on each calibration page where the button says 'Reset' (as opposed to 'Set'), click that.
2. You can disable all post-calibration (i.e. to not calibrate at all unless an axis is assigned in FSUIPC using 'send direct to FSUIPC calibration') by setting
AllowSendToFSCalibration=No
in the [General] section of your FSUIPC7.ini file.
Note that setting this will affect all axes assignments not assigned in FSUIPC with 'send direct to FSUIPC calibration'.
Maybe try this first just to see if the cyclic works when assigned in MSFS and FSUIPC7 is running with this option. If so, you can then remove this and try the first option which is preferable (unless you are happy with no FSUIPC7 calibration unless assigned to FSUIPC calibration).

Well, as they are lvars, you can use those. The easiest way to do this in FSUIPC7 is to create two presets - one to update L:COWANSIM_Cyclic_X_Position and the other for L:COWANSIM_Cyclic_Y_Position. Then assign your X-axis to the X_Position preset, and the Y-axis to the Y_Position preset see the following FAQ entry on how to do this:
https://fsuipc.com/community/fsuipc-faq-axis/the-easy-way-to-assign-an-axis-to-control-an-lvar-when-using-fsuipc7/#post-35
Before you do this, I would suggest checking that writing/updating these lvars has the relevant affect on the cyclic by manually updating them using the Add-ons->WASM->Set Lvar... function. You also need to detemine the value range for these lvars so that you can calibrate your axes to those ranges.
Try this and I can help you further if you have issues.

Thanks for this!

@fsuipc Yea, I'm sure it was me. I've been dealing with life's issues, researching this and leaving messages in several places where "someone" says they figured it out, maybe. Always no response. Anyway, thanks for the instruction and patience with me. I'll have to try this later, perhaps in a couple of weeks, hope not. I'll let you know so if anyone else has issues they will know hopefully what to do.
