Dear John,
I am experiencing a persistent issue with the WebSocket Server component of FSUIPC7 when installing for MSFS 2024 (Steam version), and I would appreciate your assistance.
System configuration:
Two physical drives:
Drive C: Windows + MSFS 2020 (Steam)
Drive D: MSFS 2024 (Steam)
FSUIPC version: 7.5.6
Installer version: 1.0.3
FSUIPC installation directory: C:\FSUIPC7
MSFS 2024 Community folder:
C:\Users\Utilisateur\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\Packages\Community
The installer correctly detects both simulators:
MSFS2020 Steam version detected
MSFS2024 Steam version detected
The installer log reports:
“Installing WebSocket Server…
Extract: FSUIPCWebSocketServer.exe... 100%
Extract: FSUIPCWebSocketServer.exe.config... 100%
Extract: FSUIPC_WAPID.dll... 100%
WebSocket Server installed in C:\FSUIPC7\Utils”
However, after installation completes:
FSUIPCWebSocketServer.exe is NOT present in C:\FSUIPC7\Utils
A full Windows system search for FSUIPCWebSocketServer.exe returns no results
Windows Defender shows no quarantine entries
No antivirus software is blocking or deleting the file
Re-running the installer (with WebSocket Server component selected) produces the same result
All other components install and function correctly:
FSUIPC7.exe is present and runs normally
The WASM module installs correctly into the MSFS 2024 Community folder
EXE.xml is correctly updated
SDK and other utilities are installed
The only missing component is FSUIPCWebSocketServer.exe, despite the installer reporting successful extraction.
Because of this, http://localhost:2048 is inaccessible and WebSocket functionality cannot be used.
Given the dual-drive configuration (MSFS 2020 on C: and MSFS 2024 on D:), could this affect the WebSocket installation path resolution?
Could you please advise:
Is there a known issue with the WebSocket component in 7.5.6?
Could the installer be failing silently during extraction?
Is a standalone WebSocket Server package available for manual installation?

@fidgou You can download and install the WebSocket server from the home page: http://fsuipcwebsockets.paulhenty.com/
Your issue is different than the issue described in this topic. I do not understand how the WebSocket server exe is not installed, especially if it says that is installed correctly in your installation log.
Also, for any and all installation issues, please attach your InstallFSUIPC7.log file rather than pasting extracts.
