This are the (new) Support Forums for FSUIPC and related products.

These forums replace the old support forums which have been running for 20+ years. The old forums contain a wealth of information on all FSUIPC products, and are still available (until the end of the year) for read-only here.

At the moment these new forums are quite empty – I will be updating the FAQ section and copying across the User Contributions from the old forums in the next few months.

FSUIPC is freezing the sim every few seconds, only with PMDG 777F

MSFS2024 up to date, FSUIPC 7.5.5. PMDG 777F up to date.

I’ve had an issue for a long time with the PMDG 777F freezing the entire sim (showing not responding in task manager) every few seconds.

I’ve managed to pinpoint it only happens when FSUIPC7 is connected to the sim. If I disconnect FSUIPC via the GUI the problem stops. If I reconnect it, it starts again immediately.

I am unsure what logging is expected / helpful. But when I enable ‘events’ logs to console, I see lots of lines about the status of WINDSHIELD_DEICIE every 5 seconds, which appears to align to the timing of the freezing. I’m not sure if the logging pauses on that schedule due to the sim freezing.

Any suggestions?

Can you check the MSFS console for any messages please – you need to enable devmode to see the logging console.

This is not related and those de-ice events can safely be ignored (you can use the DontLogThese ini parameter to stop these being logged).

Your log does show some simconnect connection issues,  as the traffic thread is continually being re-started. You could try adding

    ProvideAIdata=No

to the [General] section of your FSUIPC7.ini if not interested in traffic data.

Your files are also confusing. What are you using FSUIPC7 for? You don’t seem to have any assignments at all, and it is strange that the WAPI is disabled, according to your ini file:

[WAPI]
EnableWAPI=No
LogLevel=Info

But your log file is showing it is enabled:

162016 PMDG 777 offsets enabled
180484 Requesting Input Events....
180484 Starting WAPI (WAPI enabled)...
180484 [INFO]: **** Starting FSUIPC7 WASM Interface (WAPI) version 1.0.4 (WASM version 1.0.7) using connection -1
180484 [INFO]: Connected to MSFS
180484 -------------------- Starting everything now ----------------------

?

Also, if using PMDG aircraft in MSFS2024, please update to the latest beta (7.5.6b), available from the News section. This has some improvements when using PMDG aircraft in MSFS2024.

Note also that using auto-save with PMDG aircraft can cause sim pauses when auto-save is active. Please see the following FAQ entry:
