This are the (new) Support Forums for FSUIPC and related products.
These forums replace the old support forums which have been running for 20+ years. The old forums contain a wealth of information on all FSUIPC products, and are still available (until the end of the year) for read-only here.
At the moment these new forums are quite empty – I will be updating the FAQ section and copying across the User Contributions from the old forums in the next few months.
Please note that you will need to Register and Login to post for support, and also to download attachments. You can view these forums without registering.
Support is also available via Discord. Please use the following invite link to join the FSUIPC Discord server:

OK these are from th 4th flight where it seems no connection between the physical button and the flight sim
From the 4th flight?
From the log, it looks like you started FSUIPC7 manually, and way before MSFS was ready to receive connections:
563 Manually started with DetectToConnectDelay=1, InitialStallTime=15
766 Using “C:\FSUIPC7\GFDEV64.DLL”, version 2.2.8.0

If starting FSUIPC7 manually, you should wait until MSFS has initialised and arrived at the menu system before starting FSUIPC7.
First, you are operating your buttons too early. You started here:
256672 ——————– Starting everything now ———————-
256875 Aircraft=”Blackbird 310R NoTail”
257094 Button held, flags=X05, repeat set: bRef=0, Joy=4 (E), Btn=19, (Result 4)
but FSUIPC7 was not ready to process these until 8 seconds later, here:
265063 Lvars received: 827 L:vars & 0 H:vars now available
265063 Lvars/Hvars received – checking aircraft autos….
265063 Button held, flags=X05, repeat set: bRef=0, Joy=4 (E), Btn=19, (Result 4)
i.e. you should wait until FSUIPC7 is fully ready and has received the lvars, especially when using lvars, presets, etc.
Otherwise your actions will just be ignored.
Also, please always exit FSUIPC7 before attaching files – your log shows FSUIPC7 was still running.
And where / at what point did your assignments stop working?
There are some WASM errors reported, but not sure why. I think a repeat rate of 20 times a second is probably far too fast for presets. Do you really need to have these on repeat? If not, turn repeat off, but if so, try reducing the repeat rate, e.g try something like
ButtonRepeat=8,4
I will look into repeat rate for presets when I get a chance…
But do you really need repeat set on these assignments:
257094 Button held, flags=X05, repeat set: bRef=0, Joy=4 (E), Btn=19, (Result 4)
257094 [Buttons] 31=RE,19,CPC310R_Front_Cabin_Light_DEC,0
…
1313609 [Buttons] 31=RE,19,CPC310R_Front_Cabin_Light_DEC,0
1313609 Button held, flags=X05, repeat set: bRef=0, Joy=2 (C), Btn=144, (Result 4)
1313609 [Buttons] 24=RC,144,CPC310R_Flight_Instrument_Lighting_DEC,0
1313609 Button held, flags=X05, repeat set: bRef=0, Joy=2 (C), Btn=146, (Result 4)
As your log is flooded with messages for those button repeats / assignments, it looks like you have assigned them to a switch or sticky (always-on) button. If that is the case, they should certainly not be on repeat….
Can you turn the logging off. Then, when you next get this issue, turn the logging back on for both Buttons & Keys and WAPI Debug (Log->WAPi->Debug). Then I can tell where the issue starts. That log file is just too large to be useful.
I may also need to see your FSUIPC_WASM.log file (preferably also with Debug level logging enabled in the WAPI).
Hi I didn’t close FSUIPC down after the 3rd successful flight what I did different after that flight was select “MAIN MENU” from FS2024 where has the first 3 flights I selected “END FLIGHT” which took me back to the Flight planner page where the “MAIN MENU takes you back to the home page. And are now wondering if that when it loses connection as it does seem random. I closed the interface of FSUIPC before I saved the logs but maybe I should have made sure I closed FUIPC if closing the interface only minimises the program. Just for clarity whether I opened FUIPC manually I don’t have any icon on desktop to open it I would have to go in to start and into the folder and that I didn’t do.
The repeat action is for the cabin light as it is in real life it is a rotary switch that I don’t have as hardware I use a switch that keeps repeating while fully on.

It appears that the problem is after closing a flight down then opening another at the gate (cold and dark) can you please confirm if you would have expected that

I will check this (tomorrow now) but it shouldn’t make a difference. It is when you start a flight that is important, but it may matter if you ended this way and started a new flight and FSUIPC did not detect the new flight starting. I will check tomorrow.

It is not losing a connection, it is just not acting on your assignments, This may also be due to a recent change (in 7.5.5) where button/key presses are ignored until FSUIPC7 is ready – maybe it doesn’t reach this ‘ready’ state for some reason… As I say, I will check this in MSFS2024 tomorrow.

To exit FSUIPC7, use File->Exit. Clicking the x in the corner just closes/minimizes the UI.

Yes, that is normally the case (but you can create a desktop icon / shortcut to start FSUIPC7 on its own (if needed). The icon installed by FSUIPC7 installer just starts MSFS, and it is MSFS that starts FSUIPC7. But your log shows that it was manually started:
563 Manually started with DetectToConnectDelay=1, InitialStallTime=15
Was this not the case? If not, then your entry in the MSFS EXE.xml file is not correct – did you manually change or add this? If started by MSFS via the EXE.xml, that would say ‘Auto-started via EXE.xml…‘. It is important for FSUIPC7 to know if it is automaticaly or manually started, as different parameters are used to time when to first try and connect (DetectToConnectDelay vs DetectToConnectDelayAuto).
Posted by: @paul-marchintonThe repeat action is for the cabin light as it is in real life it is a rotary switch that I don’t have as hardware I use a switch that keeps repeating while fully on.
But from your log, that seems to be nearly always on – did you look at your log? One example:
257094 Button held, flags=X05, repeat set: bRef=0, Joy=4 (E), Btn=19, (Result 4)
257094 [Buttons] 31=RE,19,CPC310R_Front_Cabin_Light_DEC,0
…
595844 [Buttons] 31=RE,19,CPC310R_Front_Cabin_Light_DEC,0
595844 Button held, flags=X05, repeat set: bRef=0, Joy=2 (C), Btn=144, (Result 4)
So that was on for 338 seconds, sending 20 decrement presets a second, so sending 6760 preset controls. That is excessive! If you were using a rotary, you would spin it a few times and it would send maybe 10-20 controls.
So you are flooding the WASM with these always-on switches assigned to repeat. You really need to think of another way of doing these. Why not assign to regular buttons, and just push them a few times. Or if you really need to use repeat, why are you repeating them for 338 seconds or over 5 and a half minutes?
Please check you log and see how many of these there are. I am surprised anything is working when you are flooding with so many repeated presets all the time….
@fsuipc I will look how i can change the repreat action but have had this configured for well over a year in FS2020 maybe sort a rotary. I definantly did not star FSUIPC manually
