PMDG 737 v4.00.028 on MSFS 2024 with FSUIPC 7.5.7d. I have had this ticketed some months with PMDG but we have not solved it. Everything works perfectly, but now and then (quite rarely) a sim flight will not have any brakes working from the start of the session, i.e. I first notice it when starting to taxi.
Even when it happens, I can see the brake pedals moving perfectly in the pmdg cockpit and I can still set Parking Brake (which needs brakes to be depressed to engage) but nothing will stop the aircraft, not even successfully engaging parking brake.
I did try brakes being assigned in MSFS only but I still got the issue. I then got the issue today after I have had them assigned for some time in FSUIPC as below. I have triple-checked and there are no brake assignments in MSFS and no PMDG failures set.
I found the extract below in the FSUIPC user manual, do you know if this Filter has had an effect of PMDG?? I'll also try with filter off. Any other ideas would be extremely welcome.
I have also copied this to my PMDG ticket to see if they have anything to add, but I doubt they will as we have tried most things already. This included just using the keyboard to apply brakes when the issue occurred, but not even this worked and I have also deleted this keyboard assignment since.
Note that enabling the filter action on some axes, particularly Brakes, can apparently adversely affect the way some advanced cockpits operate. If you have any doubt do not check the Filter option.
If the pedals are still moving, then the FS must be receiving the controls but just not applying the brakes, and if this also occurs when brakes are assigned in MSFS, then this would almost certainly indicate that this is an issue for PMDG. I can't think of anything that could cause this or how to investigate further via FSUIPC as the brakes are actually working (i.e. the pedals are moving). It seems the issue is with the model not actually braking.
As for the filter option, just disable if it causes issues, otherwise you can enable. As you have assigned with the 'direct to FSUIPC calibration', this should be ok but I am not 100% sure on this.
You can also set the BrakeReleaseThreshold as needed - if the CDU handles this, you can set this to 0 - don't delete it as if you do this it will use the default value of 75 (and the parameter will probably be re-added anyway).
